Size

Amphiprion latezonatus grows to 14 cm (5+1⁄2 inches) long.

Body Coloration

Its body is dark brown with three white bars, and the caudal fin has a broad white margin.

Middle Bar Characteristics

As its common name implies, the middle white bar is very wide, roughly twice the average width of the middle bar seen in other anemonefishes, and is shaped like a flat-topped pyramid.

Fin Ray and Spine Count

This species has 10 dorsal spines, 2 anal spines, 15 to 16 dorsal soft rays, and 13 to 14 anal soft rays.

Distribution

It occurs in the subtropical waters of Australia, ranging from southern Queensland to northern New South Wales, and also lives around Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island.
