About Albizia chinensis (Osbeck) Merr.
Albizia chinensis (Osbeck) Merr. is a deciduous or evergreen tree that grows to a height of 30 to 43 meters. Its trunk can reach a diameter of 1 to 2 meters. Its flowers grow as stalked heads that group together into a yellow panicle. Its fruits are indehiscent pods. Albizia chinensis is used as a browse tree; its leaves are readily eaten by goats, but goats rarely touch its bark because the bark contains saponin. It is also used as a shade tree in plantations, and can be planted as an ornamental tree.
