About Acacia stenoptera Benth.

Acacia stenoptera Benth. is a rigid, prickly shrub that usually grows between 0.2 and 0.7 metres (0.7 to 2.3 ft) tall, and may reach up to 2 metres (7 ft) in height. It can grow with a scrambling, sprawling, or tangled erect habit. This shrub has ridged stems and curving, spine-tipped phyllodes that form continuous wings along the stem. In its native range, it produces globular cream or yellow flowerheads between March and December. After flowering, it forms quadrangular seed pods 3 to 7 centimetres (1.2 to 2.8 in) long that have prominent ridges. This shrub is native to the Mid West, Wheatbelt, Peel, South West, and Great Southern regions of Western Australia. It grows in a variety of habitats in sandy soils, most often around laterite.
