Use of the App
iNature is an AI-powered nature identification tool. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store guidelines.
Identification Accuracy
Important: iNature's AI identification is for informational and educational purposes only. Do not rely solely on iNature to determine whether a plant, mushroom, or other organism is safe to eat or touch.
- Never consume any wild plant, mushroom, or berry based solely on an AI identification
- Always consult an expert for foraging decisions
- We are not liable for harm resulting from misidentification
Purchases and Payments
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. All sales are final unless required by applicable law. Lifetime access grants are valid for the current major version of the app.
Intellectual Property
All content in the iNature app and website — including AI models, design, text, and imagery — is owned by iNature or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.
Data Sources & Attribution
Species data, descriptions, and taxonomy information presented on this website and in the iNature app are compiled from publicly available scientific databases and open-source biodiversity resources, including but not limited to:
- GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) — taxonomy and occurrence data
- iNaturalist — community-verified observation data and images (licensed under Creative Commons)
- Wikipedia / Wikidata — species descriptions and general information (CC BY-SA)
- NCBI Taxonomy — taxonomic classification data
Species images displayed on this website may be sourced from open-license platforms. We make best efforts to comply with the terms of applicable Creative Commons and open-data licenses. If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without proper attribution or in violation of your rights, please contact us at support@inature.app and we will promptly investigate and, if necessary, remove or properly attribute the content.
iNature does not claim ownership of third-party data. All original data remains the property of its respective creators and is used here under applicable open-data or fair-use provisions for educational and informational purposes.
Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Reverse engineer or decompile the app
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Scrape or systematically download content from the website
- Attempt to circumvent in-app purchase restrictions

Limitation of Liability
