About Zieria pilosa Rudge
Zieria pilosa Rudge is a shrub that grows up to 1 meter (3 feet) in height. It has smooth, hairy branches that become hairless (glabrous) as they age. The leaves are made up of three linear to lance-shaped leaflets, attached to a petiole 1โ4 mm (0.04โ0.2 in) long. The central leaflet measures 10โ25 mm (0.4โ1 in) long and 2โ7 mm (0.08โ0.3 in) wide, with its own individual petiole 0.5โ2 mm (0.02โ0.08 in) long. The upper surface of the leaflets is flat, dark green, and more or less glabrous, while the lower surface is paler green and covered in hairs. Flowers are white to pale pink, usually arranged singly in leaf axils, and are shorter than the leaves. There are four hairy, narrow triangular sepal lobes 2โ3 mm (0.08โ0.1 in) long, and four petals 3โ4 mm (0.1โ0.2 in) long. The petals are covered in soft hairs. Like other zierias, this species only has four stamens. Flowering occurs mainly in spring and early summer. This zieria grows in forest and heath habitats in coastal and near-coastal districts between Taree and Eden.
