About Zephyranthes phycelloides (Herb.) Nic.García
Zephyranthes phycelloides, commonly called añañuca roja, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is a bulbous geophyte that is endemic to central Chile. It is morphologically similar to other species in the Zephyranthes genus, and is particularly similar to Phycella cyrtanthoides. Unlike the rounded (capitated) stigma of Phycella cyrtanthoides, Zephyranthes phycelloides has a three-lobed (trifid) stigma. This species was previously classified under the name Rhodophiala phycelloides.
