About Zephyranthes drummondii D.Don
Zephyranthes drummondii D.Don is a perennial herb that reaches a height of 16 to 45 cm (6.3 to 17.7 in). Its leaf blades are glaucous-green, growing up to 8 mm (0.31 in) wide. The spathe of this species measures 3–5 cm in length. Its flowers are erect, with a funnel-shaped perianth that is 6 to 9 cm (2.4 to 3.5 in) long. The perianth is white, and sometimes flushed pink on its abaxial surface. The perianth tube is white to green, ranging from 3 to 4.7 cm (1.2 to 1.9 in) in length. Tepals are rarely reflexed. The stamens are clustered into a fascicle and are distinctly subequal. The filaments are subulate, 0.1 to 0.2 cm long, while the anthers measure 5 to 8 mm (0.20 to 0.31 in) long. This species flowers from March to August.
This plant is distributed in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and northeast Mexico, growing at elevations between 0 and 900 meters above sea level. It typically occurs in sandy or rocky, usually calcareous soils.
