About Zephyranthes chlorosolen (Herb.) D.Dietr.
Zephyranthes chlorosolen (Herb.) D.Dietr. is a geophytic perennial herb, usually growing 18 to 35 cm (7.1 to 13.8 in) tall. Its leaf blades are dull green and up to 5 mm wide. The spathe measures 3 to 5.7 cm (1.2 to 2.2 in). The flowers are erect, with a salverform perianth 7.3 to 16 cm (2.9 to 6.3 in) long that is white, sometimes tinged or veined with pink. The perianth tube is 7 to 13 cm (2.8 to 5.1 in) long, primarily white, sometimes pale green near its base. Tepals are rarely reflexed. The stamens are clustered (fasciculate) and appear equal in size; filaments are 0.2 to 0.5 mm long and subulate, while anthers are 4 to 9 mm long. The style is longer than the perianth tube. The stigma is capitate, and sits among or very close to the anthers. A pedicel is usually absent, and rarely reaches 0.1 cm long when present. This species occurs in the United States (Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas), Mexico, and southern Brazil, growing at elevations between 0 and 2400 meters above sea level.
