Zeltnera trichantha is a plant species that reaches up to 45 centimetres (18 inches) in height. Its leaves are ovate to lanceolate in shape, and grow up to 4 centimetres (1.6 inches) long. This species produces a flat-topped inflorescence, densely packed with small but showy pink flowers. Each flower has five petals and a yellow to white throat. This plant is native to northern California. Most of its native range is within coastal hills and mountains, and it occasionally occurs in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. It most often grows in alkaline vernal pools and saline flats, and sometimes grows on serpentine soils.
