About Zanclognatha martha Barnes, 1928

Zanclognatha martha, commonly known as the pine barrens zanclognatha or Martha's zanclognatha, is a species of litter moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first described by William Barnes in 1928. Its distribution ranges from Ohio to Maine in the northeastern United States, extending south to North Carolina in mountain regions and along the Coastal Plain to Texas. It holds a threatened conservation status in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The wingspan of this moth measures approximately 25 millimetres, which is equivalent to 0.98 inches. In Connecticut and Missouri, this species produces one generation per year, while it produces two generations per year in more southern portions of its range.
