About Yucca valida Brandegee

Yucca valida Brandegee is a plant species in the family Asparagaceae, with the common name datilillo. It is native to the Mexican states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa. This is a large, branched yucca that can reach up to 7 meters (23 feet) in height. It produces rigid, lance-shaped leaves that grow up to 35 centimeters (14 inches) long. Dead leaves remain attached to the plant beneath the living leaves, creating a skirt-like structure around the trunk. Its flowers are white, and it develops juicy, edible black fruits that can reach up to 4.5 centimeters (1.8 inches) long.
