About Yucca periculosa Baker

Yucca periculosa Baker is a large, branched, arborescent species that can reach up to 15 meters in height. The width of its leaves changes with age: older plants produce longer, wider leaves than younger plants. Leaves are long, and range in color from green to green-teal. White fibers are more prominent on mature plants than younger individuals. Older tree-sized specimens may develop branches. Leaf tips are sharp and hard on mature plants, while leaf tips on young plants are less hard and less sharp. On mature plants, leaves droop downward to shade the stem and reduce water loss by covering it.
