About Yucca constricta Buckley

Yucca constricta Buckley, commonly known as Buckley's yucca, is a species of plant in the family Asparagaceae. This yucca can be found growing on rocky limestone hills in central and eastern Texas, United States, as well as in Coahuila, Mexico. Most individuals of Yucca constricta are acaulescent, meaning they have no trunk. They sometimes grow in clumps, and spread via trailing stems. The species produces flowering stalks that grow up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall, which hold hanging, greenish-white flowers. Its fruit is a dry capsule that contains shiny black seeds. Yucca constricta is considered relatively abundant. While it faces some local threats, its overall global population appears to be stable.
