About Xyris juncea R.Br.

Xyris juncea, commonly known as the dwarf yellow-eye, is a species of flowering plant that occurs in northern and eastern Australia. It is widespread across swampy habitats in this region. It grows as a tufted herb, reaching a maximum height of 30 centimetres. This species was one of many plants first published by Robert Brown, with its type specimen recorded as "(J.) v.v.". Its publication appeared in Brown's work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae et Insulae Van Diemen in 1810. The specific epithet juncea comes from Latin, and refers to the species' resemblance to a sedge.
