About Xylorhiza adusta (Wiedemann, 1819)

Xylorhiza adusta is a species of long-horned borer with a bark-like mimetic appearance. Adults of this species reach a length of about 35–40 millimetres, equal to 1.4–1.6 inches. This beetle has a greyish-brown background body color, and its hairy elytra display dark brown longitudinal lines. The main known host plants for Xylorhiza adusta are Callicarpa arborea, Callicarpa macrophylla, Premna pyramidata, Viburnum odoratissimum, and Wrightia tinctoria. This is a widespread species distributed across Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
