About Xestia c-nigrum (Linnaeus, 1758)

This species has a wingspan of 35 to 45 millimeters. Its forewings are purplish grey or purplish fuscous with a leaden gloss; the costal area at the middle is ochreous, and merges with the bluntly triangular orbicular stigma. The cell, a submedian basal blotch, and the costal spot before the apex are purplish black. The claviform stigma is very small, while the reniform stigma is large, with its lower lobe being purple. The hindwings are ochreous whitish; in females, the termen is broadly fuscous. The larva is pink, with a broad dark brown subdorsal band.
