Xanthotaenia is a monotypic butterfly genus that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. Its only species is Xanthotaenia busiris, commonly known as the yellow-banded nymph. Members of this species can be identified by the presence of a yellow stripe along their forewings. The genus Xanthotaenia is primarily distributed across Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo. It occurs in tropical rainforests at elevations ranging from 100 to 300 meters.
