Xanthopastis timais (described by Cramer in 1782) is a moth species that belongs to the family Noctuidae. This species can be found across all lowland areas of South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Its southern distribution extends as far as northern Argentina. While Xanthopastis timais was previously reported to also occur in North America, all of these past North American records actually correspond to the separate species Xanthopastis regnatrix.
