About Xandrames latiferaria Walker, 1860

Xandrames latiferaria is a moth species in the Geometridae family, first described by Francis Walker in 1860. This species is found in Japan, China, the north-eastern Himalayas, and Sundaland. Its wingspan ranges from 50 to 60 mm, and its larvae feed on plants of the genus Lindera. Xandrames cnecozona resembles the typical form of X. latiferaria in both genitalia and outward appearance, but it is slightly larger and yellower in color. Currently X. cnecozona is treated as a synonym of X. latiferaria, though it may be deserving of recognition as a separate subspecies.
