About Viola pedata L.
Viola pedata L., commonly known as birdsfoot violet, bird's-foot violet, or mountain pansy, is a violet species native to sandy habitats in central and eastern North America. Birdsfoot violet grows best in well-drained, acidic soils with exposure to full or partial sun. It is hard to grow in typical garden settings, as it cannot tolerate rich, organic garden soils and excessive moisture.
