About Viola incognita Brainerd
Scientific name: Viola incognita Brainerd, commonly known as the sweet white violet. This species grows 6 to 12 inches tall, and produces small white flowers during spring and early summer. Its lower petals have purple veins, while the upper petals are often twisted or bent backward. Its stalks have a reddish tint. The heart-shaped leaves are 1–2 inches long, and have a few scattered hairs. Across some parts of its range, this white violet has shown a weak ability to respond to climate change by shifting its flowering time.
