About Viola cuneata S.Watson

Viola cuneata S.Watson is a rhizomatous herb that produces a hairless stem, which reaches a maximum height between a few centimeters and around 25 centimeters. The plant’s basal leaves have green blades that can be oval, rounded, or wedge-shaped, marked with purple veins, and these leaves grow on long petioles. Leaves that grow higher on the main stem are smaller in size. A single flower is produced on a very slender, upright stem. The flower has five white petals with yellowish bases. The two lateral petals, and usually the two upper petals, have purple spots. The outer surfaces of the petals may be deep purple to red, and the lowest three petals are generally marked with purple veining.
