About Viola blanda Willd.

Scientific name: Viola blanda Willd., commonly called the sweet white violet. It grows between 6 and 12 inches tall, and produces small white flowers during spring and early summer. The lower petals of the flowers have purple veins, while the upper petals are often twisted or bent backwards. Its flower stalks have a reddish tint. This plant produces heart-shaped leaves that are 1–2 inches long, with a few scattered hairs on each leaf. Across some parts of this species' range, sweet white violet has shown only a weak ability to respond to climate change by shifting its flowering time.
