Veronica syriaca Roem. & Schult. is an annual pubescent-glandular plant that reaches 10โ30 centimetres (4โ12 inches) in height. Its leaves are ovate, and have either crenulate or dentate margins. It blooms from January to May, and its flowers grow in loose racemes. The plant's bracts are linear and entire. Its pedicels are filiform, spreading-erect, and sometimes recurved at the apex. Calyx lobes are ovate-lanceolate, and measure 2โ3 millimetres (1โ16โ1โ8 inch). The corolla is blue and white, with a diameter of 8โ15 mm (3โ8โ5โ8 inch). This species is distributed across Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey. In Lebanon, it grows on the coast, lower and middle mountains, and the eastern slope of Beqaa, Hennon. It can be found growing in fields and gardens.
