About Venusia comptaria (Walker, 1860)
Venusia comptaria, commonly known as the brown-shaded carpet moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. This species was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1860. It is distributed in eastern North America, ranging from Florida north to Newfoundland and extending west to the province of Manitoba. This moth lives in woodland habitats. Adults of this species have a wingspan of approximately 20 mm.
