About Utricularia reticulata Sm.

Utricularia reticulata Sm. has narrowly linear-oblong leaves that measure approximately 1 to 2 centimeters in length. Its slender, erect scapes are 15 to 50 centimeters long and grow in twinned pairs. The species produces bluish-purple flowers arranged in racemes, where individual flowers are well-spaced along the upper portion of the raceme. Each flower has a 6 to 12 millimeter long peduncle. The flowers are two-lipped; the larger lip is 1.2 to 1.6 centimeters long, marked with dark net-like veins, and has a light-colored center. Each flower also has a conical, straight spur around 6 millimeters long. This species is distributed in India and Sri Lanka.
