About Utricularia caerulea L.

Utricularia caerulea, commonly known as the blue bladderwort, is a very small to medium-sized carnivorous plant in the genus Utricularia. It has a broad native distribution across tropical Africa, Asia, and Australia. This species grows as a terrestrial plant, found in wet shallow soils over rock, wet grasslands, swamps, or near streams in open plant communities. It mostly occurs at lower altitudes, but can grow at elevations up to 2,100 m (6,890 ft). It was first described and published by Carl Linnaeus in 1753.
