About Uromacer catesbyi (Schlegel, 1837)
Uromacer catesbyi, a species of snake in the family Colubridae, has two common English names: the blunt-headed Hispaniolan vine snake and Catesby's pointed snake. This species is endemic to the island of Hispaniola, and is native to the two nations that share the island: the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Its preferred natural habitat is forest, found at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,300 m (4,300 ft), but it can also frequently be found living in disturbed areas. Uromacer catesbyi reproduces via oviparity, meaning it lays eggs.
