Etymology
Its scientific name honors American actress Uma Thurman; the name acts both as a pun on the genus name Uma, and a tribute to Thurman for her conservation advocacy.
Distribution
This lizard is found only in the Mohawk Dunes, a dune system located west of the Mohawk Mountains in southern Arizona.
