The chestnut thrush, scientifically named Turdus rubrocanus J.E.Gray & G.R.Gray, 1847, is a bird species that belongs to the Turdidae family. It breeds in the western Himalayas and central or southwestern China, and winters in the Eastern Himalaya and northern Southeast Asia. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
