About Turdus obscurus Gmelin, 1789

This species is an attractive thrush. It has a grey back and a grey head; the head features a black eyeline that is bordered white both above and below. Its breast and flanks are orange, and its belly is white. The sexes are fairly similar in appearance, but immature individuals have a browner back than adults. Males produce a simple whistling song, which is similar to the song of the related mistle thrush.
