About Turdus libonyana (A.Smith, 1836)

This species, the Kurrichane thrush, has a scientific name of Turdus libonyana (A.Smith, 1836). Kurrichane thrushes measure 21 to 23 cm (8.3โ€“9.1 in) in length, and weigh approximately 46โ€“82 g (1.6โ€“2.9 oz). Their head, upperparts, and breast are grey; the belly is whitish, with orange flanks. The throat is white, with black streaks along the sides. The bill is orange, and is typically paler yellow at its base. Leg color varies among individuals. Both male and female Kurrichane thrushes have the same appearance. This species occurs in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
