About Tulipa sylvestris L.

Tulipa sylvestris L. is a perennial plant that grows from a bulb. It produces narrow, blue-grey leaves, and each stem typically bears 1 to 2 flowers. Stems of this species can grow up to 50 centimeters (20 inches) tall. Its scented yellow flowers, which sometimes have a red tint on their outer surfaces, bloom between April and May. Individuals of this species rarely produce seeds, and their flowers are pollinated by small insects. This plant grows in dry grassy areas and woodland copses.
