Trithemis dorsalis, commonly known as the highland dropwing, is a dragonfly species that belongs to the family Libellulidae. This species has been recorded in Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Kenya, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It is also possibly present in Burundi and Malawi. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, rivers, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes.
