About Triteleia bridgesii (S.Watson) Greene

Triteleia bridgesii (S.Watson) Greene, previously classified as Brodiaea bridgesii, is commonly known as Bridges' brodiaea, and is also called triplet lily. This species occurs in the foothills and low-elevation mountains of California and Oregon, and frequently grows in areas with serpentine soil. It is an attractive perennial flowering plant that is often cultivated as an ornamental. This plant produces long, erect green stems that branch near the top into several smaller stems that hold the flowers. Its blooms are bright purple or lavender; they start out tubular, then open into six-pointed star shapes.
