About Triodanis leptocarpa (Nutt.) Nieuwl.

Triodanis leptocarpa, with the scientific name Triodanis leptocarpa (Nutt.) Nieuwl., is commonly known as slimpod Venus' looking-glass. It is a species of flowering plant belonging to the bellflower family, Campanulaceae. This plant is native to the United States, and it occurs primarily in the Great Plains and Midwest regions of the country. Its natural habitat consists of dry upland prairies and open rock outcrops. It can tolerate habitat disturbance, so it can also be found growing in pastures and along roadsides. Triodanis leptocarpa is an herbaceous annual plant. It can be told apart from other species in the genus Triodanis by two key features: its long, narrow leaves, and its fruits that contain a single locule.
