About Trigonopeltastes delta (Forster, 1771)

Adults of Trigonopeltastes delta (Forster, 1771) are 8 to 10 millimeters long. This species can be recognized by the yellow triangle marking on its pronotum. This marking matches the defensive coloration seen in many wasps, and researchers have theorized that this marking functions as Batesian mimicry. Trigonopeltastes delta can be found on flowers from late spring through summer; the flowers it visits include those of Queen Anne's lace and New Jersey tea.
