About Triglochin palustris L.

Triglochin palustris L. is a slender perennial herb that grows 15 to 40 cm tall. It does not produce stolons, and releases a pleasant aromatic scent when its tissue is bruised. Its leaves are linear, growing 10 to 20 cm long; they are rounded on the lower side, and deeply grooved on the opposite side. It bears many flowers, each with 6 tepals, arranged in a long spike. Its perianth segments have purple edges, and measure 2 mm long. This species flowers from June through August. Its fruits are club-shaped, 10 mm long and 2 mm wide.
