Trifolium microdon Hook. & Arn. is a species of clover, commonly called thimble clover. It is native to western North America, ranging from British Columbia to southern California. It grows in many types of habitat, including disturbed areas. This species is an annual herb that grows in either a decumbent or erect form. The entire plant is covered in hairs. Its leaves are composed of oval leaflets with either notched or flat tips; each leaflet reaches up to 1.5 centimeters in length. The inflorescence is a flower head held within a deep, bowl-like involucre of bracts, which can almost completely enclose the entire head. The flower corollas range from white to pink, and measure about half a centimeter long.
