About Tricholoma imbricatum (Fr.) P.Kumm.

The fruit bodies of Tricholoma imbricatum (Fr.) P.Kumm. have brown to reddish-brown, often scaly caps that range from 6–18 cm (2+3⁄8–7+1⁄8 inches) in diameter. Their stipes measure 3.5–12 cm (1+3⁄8–4+3⁄4 inches) long and 1–3 cm (3⁄8–1+1⁄8 inches) thick. The gills are adnexed to adnate; they start out whitish, and later develop reddish-brown spots. Both the spores and the spore print of this species are white. This fungus grows on the ground in coniferous forests, and is distributed in North America and Europe.
