About Trichilia dregeana Sond.

The large compound leaves of Trichilia dregeana Sond. each bear 7 to 11 leaflets. These leaflets have 7 to 12 lateral veins, which is typically fewer than the lateral veins found on leaflets of the related Natal mahogany. The fruit of this plant is dehiscent, reddish brown, spherical, and measures about 3 cm in diameter. Just like the Natal mahogany, each black seed of Trichilia dregeana Sond. is almost completely covered by a red aril.
