About Tribolium uniolae (L.f.) Renvoize

Tribolium uniolae is a grass species belonging to the subfamily Danthonioideae of the Poaceae grass family, and it is native to Cape Province, South Africa. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus the Younger under the original scientific name Cynosurus uniolae. In 1985, Stephen Andrew Renvoize reclassified and transferred this species to the genus Tribolium, resulting in its current accepted scientific name Tribolium uniolae (L.f.) Renvoize. In Australia, this species is an introduced weed found in the states of Victoria and Western Australia. It typically grows on disturbed ground, and its flowering period occurs from October to December each year.
