Triantha occidentalis, commonly known as the western false asphodel, is a carnivorous flowering plant. It belongs to the genus Triantha, family Tofieldiaceae, and order Alismatales. This species is native to the Pacific Northwest, and it was only formally recognized as a carnivorous plant in 2021. Carnivory is a very rare trait among members of the Monocot clade. Its native range extends from Southeast Alaska in the north to Central California in the south. This range covers the U.S. states of Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming, as well as the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
