The Madagascar green pigeon, also called the Madagascan green pigeon, has the scientific name Treron australis (Linnaeus, 1771), and is a bird species that belongs to the family Columbidae. This species is endemic to Madagascar. The taxon griveaudi is treated as a subspecies of the Madagascan green pigeon by most authorities, but is sometimes classified as a separate species called the Comoros green pigeon, Treron comorensis. The natural habitats of the Madagascar green pigeon are subtropical or tropical dry forest, and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.
