About Traminda aventiaria (Guenée, 1857)

The wings of Traminda aventiaria range from dull pale green to reddish. The forewings feature an oblique ochreous-green fascia and a strong discal ring. The caterpillar is cylindrical, variegated with light and dark brown, and has lateral expansions on its body. When resting on leaf surfaces, the caterpillar takes on a highly looped shape. The pupa is claviform, and its cremaster is triangular. Pupation takes place inside a silk cocoon woven between leaves. Known host plants for this species are Albizia, Pithecellobium dulce, Rosa species, Oenanthe javanica, and multiple Acacia species including Acacia leiocalyx, Acacia decurrens, Acacia concurrens, Acacia pennata, and Acacia aulacocarpa.
