About Trachymene ornata (Endl.) Druce
Trachymene ornata is an annual herb that grows up to 15 centimetres (6 inches) tall. It has sparsely hairy stems and sparsely hairy leaves that are deeply three-lobed, almost to the point of being completely dissected. Its inflorescence is an umbel holding 3 to 6 bisexual flowers, which can be white or blue. In New South Wales, this species is observed to flower from July to October. Its fruits have two carpels, and split into two densely woolly mericarps covered with white hairs that are sometimes purplish. It grows in rocky locations and in shallow soils.
