About Thyridia psidii (Linnaeus, 1758)
Thyridia is a monotypic genus of ithomiine (clearwing) butterflies, described and named by Jacob Hübner in 1816. Its only species is Thyridia psidii, originally published by Linnaeus in 1758. This species is commonly known as the Melantho tigerwing or clapping ticlear. It belongs to Nymphalidae, the brush-footed butterfly family, and occurs in the Neotropical zone.
