Thymus mastichina (L.) L. is a plant species that belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is endemic to the central Iberian Peninsula, occurring in Spain and Portugal. It is a perennial herb that grows white flowers and can reach a maximum height of 50 centimetres, or 1+1⁄2 feet. Oil extracted from its flowers is used as an ingredient in some pain-relieving lotions, one example of which is Aleve X.
