Thymus carnosus Boiss. is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is native to southern Portugal and Spain. This species is a woody, upright perennial that grows up to 41 cm (16 inches) tall. It produces clusters of fleshy, oval leaves, which range in color from light green to grey-green and have a furry texture on their undersides. Its flowers, which can be white, lilac, or pink, grow on 41 cm (16 inch) spikes and are protected by oval green bracts. This plant is hardy in USDA Zones 7 through 11.
