About Thorybes lyciades

This species, commonly known as the hoary edge, has the scientific name Thorybes lyciades. The wingspan of this butterfly measures 4.5 to 4.9 cm. It is very similar in appearance to Epargyreus clarus, but it is smaller, and has a longer strip of diffused silver on its wing. Each year, this species produces two broods, which emerge in April and September.
